Physical Therapy Degrees

If a person is injured or suffers a life-altering medical issue such as a stroke, the individuals that often are responsible for getting that person back on their feet is a physical therapist. Physical therapists work closely with patients to help restore function, improve mobility, relieve pain, and prevent or limit permanent physical disabilities of patients suffering from injuries or disease. Physical therapists also restore, maintain, and promote overall fitness and health.

So who is a patient of physical therapy? Their patients include accident victims and individuals with disabling conditions such as low-back pain, arthritis, heart disease, fractures, head injuries, and cerebral palsy.

But to become a physical therapist, you need to earn your Physical Therapy degree. You'll study basic science such as biology, chemistry, and physics and then also study specialized courses such as biomechanics, neuroanatomy, human growth and development, manifestations of disease, examination techniques, and therapeutic procedures.
